What is «cool and clean»?

«cool and clean» is an all-Swiss prevention programme run by Swiss Olympic, the Federal Office of Sports (BASPO) and the Federal Office of Health (BAG). Top sportsmen such as Roger Federer, Tranquillo Barnetta and Didier Cuche support «cool and clean».

More than 20,000 young people already adhere to the commitments.

«cool and clean» endeavours to link up with prevention authorities in other countries, to exchange information, pass on experiences and learn from the experiences of others.

«cool and clean» works to combat the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and cannabis in sport. It is aimed at children and young people between the ages of ten and twenty and in 2003 was successfully launched in the sphere of junior competitive sport.

Athletes, male and female, from regional and national sports squads or sports school and athletes from sports clubs declare their allegiance to «cool and clean».

«cool and clean» shows young people that they are not alone when they fight for strong values in sport. It helps them to assume responsibility for their own actions. In this way, «cool and clean» makes an important contribution to the positive sporting and personal development of young people.
